My name is Ryan MacDonald. I am a pastor, foster and adoptive Dad and the Regional Director for Foster the City in Southern California. Foster the City is an organization that works exclusively with Christian churches.
"Our mission is to empower and equip churches to live into God's call to care for orphans and widows by starting and sustaining a foster care ministry at their local church."
Over the years we have had the privilege of working with over 300 churches and by God's grace have seen 750 children placed in Christian homes! We recently launched a FTC ministry at Bethany Church in Longbeach. Here is what the pastor had to say afterward...
Our church has been wanting to get more involved with foster care ministry for some time but never knew where to start. When I met Ryan and heard about Foster the City, I immediately knew this was exactly what we needed to do! We went through the process and just had our launch, and I was blown away by the response from our church! More than double the amount of people I was praying for came to our first interest meeting! Foster the City has been super helpful and thorough in training and preparing us to launch this, and I can't wait to see what God does in our church through this ministry!
We work with dozens of churches in Southern California and we would love to run alongside your mercy and justice initiatives. Our model is effective, simple and free.
Working with Foster the City is easy and includes three steps:
Identity a lay leader (we call them the Advocate) at your church to lead the ministry
Choose a Sunday to launch your FTC ministry. EXAMPLE HERE: Starts 15:40
Invite people to a Foster the City interest meeting to learn more
